CSC hosted its first Special Olympics Regatta in 2000 (photo) and the tradition continues today. John Diggins and Steve Comen both sailed as unified partners in the 2003 Special Olympics World Games in Ireland capturing Gold. Steve then won a gold medal at the World Special Olympics Games in China in 2007.

The club joined the For The Love Of The Lake - Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce-Up (photo) in 2002 adopting the shoreline in front of the club. The club also uses its rescue boats to remove large logs and debris from the lake. FTLOTL has recognized CSC almost every year since with awards for its outstanding participation in helping preserve the lake.

CSC joined the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club in hosting the Leukemia Cup with a Centerboard Regatta (photo) on White Rock Lake in April 2004. Keelboats were raced at DCYC the following weekend. The combined event raised $146,000 to fight blood related cancers. The club has continued its participation in this worthy fundraising event.

Junior program (photo) is thriving with the junior sailing school growing each summer. Paul Denison won the right to represent TYA at the Smith Cup national junior regatta in 2005. CSC has sponsored a US SAILING Instructor course at the club yearly. The club's junior sailing facilities have been upgraded. The club hosts the annual TYA Rock the Rock regatta and in a active TYA regatta circuit.

CSC contributed to a life-size bronze "CCC Worker" statue (photo) erected by FTLOTL honoring CCC Company 2986 which was located at White Rock Lake. The statue was dedicated April 2004 and is located on Sunset Bay. Some 30+ CCC workers, who were based at the camp, attended the dedication.

CSC, with support from WRBC, helped the White Rock Lake Museum prepare an exhibit about sailing on the lake (photo) for inclusion in the new museum at the Bathhouse Cultural Center. We collected photos, historical materials and burgees for the exhibit. The museum opened to the public in September 2004 with CSC as a Bronze Patron sponsor. Much of the material in this history of the club was a result of our research for the museum.

A campaign was started in the early 2000s to refurbish the common areas and docks. Sections of the deteriorating docks were replaced including boardboat pads, south sail folding area, and junior Laser pads. In 2002, the davits at the south end of the club were turned to open to the north to increase their utility. In 2003, a master plan was proposed to systematically replace all the common areas over several years with long lasting metal pilings and plastic composite lumber. The CSC club house was renovated in 2005 (photo). The cedar siding was replaced with Hardiplank, the deck was water proofed and new benches were installed.

Security at the club has been an off and on problem over the years. Cameras and individual member gate codes were added to help improve security. This provided the backbone to add internet connectivity. The weather station and harbor cam were made available on the website in 2008 and local weather was piped into the clubhouse. Wi-fi was also added at the dock. These have been big hits with the membership.

CSC became more active in reaching out to the surrounding community in the mid-2000s. In 2005, the club collected items and held a blood drive to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We also held Red Cross first aide and CPR classes, and sponsored Sailing for Rhinos benefiting the Dallas Zoo. The junior program, Special Olympics and FTLOTL activities thrived. The club also became greener implementing a recycling program.

Two new fleets joined the CSC racing family - the Lasers and V15s. On the down side, we lost the long time Rebels and C-15s as a racing fleets in the early 2000s. In 2004, the club assumed sponsorship for the Rebel State Fair Regatta which has been held each fall during the fair since 1973. In 2009, the Lightning fleet moved to Rush Creek Yacht Club, but was never able to revive their program. A few Lightnings still remain at CSC, but are largely inactive.

The rescue boats and committee boat were all replaced and 4 cycle engines were purchased. In 2006, the club started a project to improve facilities for the boardboats (photo) and juniors. New pads and a launch ramp were added for the Laser fleet. This was followed a new junior dock. Next, the old boardboat pads were expanded and rebuilt to accommodate the new V15 fleet and improve the old pad area. This project was completed in 2008 with the rebuilding of the committee boat davits.
