October was a busy month for regattas, the CSC and the Rebel Fleet hosted the annual State Fair Regatta. The Corinthian Fleet hosted it’s Harvester Cup The Flying Scot Fleet hosted it’s annual Open House.. And SMU hosted a collegiate regatta.

Paul Dennison traveled to Houston to compete in the district qualifier for the Cressy Trophy.

The State Fair Regatta included two courses in which juniors were allowed to compete separate from other classes. Posted results indicate 58 boats competed in 6 classes. Optis were the most plentiful with 18, Flying Scots had 17, 9 Lasers, 6 Butterflies and 4 each from the Lightning and Corinthian class.

The Rebel Fleet in conjunction with CSC again demonstrated their exceptional ability at hosting the event. Food and socializing would be hard to improve. This year also included a Dinner after the awards. Well done and many Thank Yous go out to the host Fleet and their support group.

Final results are posted on the web site. Winners include

Lightning: S Anderson
Corinthian: D Barrett
Flying Scot: S Mauney
Butterfly B Faust
Laser D Peckover
Opti Nelson

The Harvester Cup is a round robin event in which participants are determined based on top three finishes in preceding Corinthian Class Regattas. This year four qualifiers met. Conditions were light and variable. Mac McCoy took top honors, Gina Wilson was second, Ken Brown was third and Bob Manning was fourth.

The Flying Scot Open house was a great gathering with plenty of refreshments and social activity. Live music was provided Friday and Saturday. Due to light winds, much more socializing than racing occurred. 1 race was completed Saturday, none were able to be had Sunday. 43 boats competed, 31 in the Championship Fleet and 12 in the Challenger Fleet full results are available on the web site, top place finishers were

Championship Fleet
1st Kelly Gough
2nd Marcus Eagan
3rd Richard Wade

Challenger Fleet
1st Bob Ducar
2nd Ed Lockey
3rd Barbara Rudolph

Congratulations to all.
