White Rock Lake Championship 2005

The Corinthian Sailing Club hosted the annual Lake Championship this month. Qualifying took place on September 11 2005, 13 boats competed in the Flying Scot and Lightning Class, (three qualifiers), 7 scored in the handicap class (two qualifiers) and one junior was invited to participate in the Lake Championship to be sailed in Butterflies. Saturday morning September 11 2005, seven contestants squared off for the round robin format finals. Conditions were similar to those common to the area (warm, light and variable). At the end of the day Richard Wade was crowned as the new Lake Champion This to go with the Club Championship title. Congratulations Richard

Corinthian Fleet

Corinthian Fleet held their annual Single Handed Regatta Saturday September 10, 2005

6 boats turned out for the event. Race committee PRO Bob Harrington set a multiple lap course around 4 marks Mac McCoy finished in 1 hour 52 minutes, Ken Brown was second (plus 6 minutes) and Bill Wilson narrowly held off Gina for third. The Fleet will have it’s Harvester Cup Regatta Saturday October 8th.

The Corinthian Fleet has grown by one more boat Hull 157 was brought here from Marblehead this month by Jill Perez et al .115 th Dream is a welcome addition to the Fleet.

Juniors


Sandy Dennison has been receiving assistance from Steve Comen and Jennifer Draheim, together they’ve been able to provide a course for juniors on Sundays. Look forward to seeing more of this.

White Rock Lake Museum


A new museum has opened in the Bath House Cultural Center to "preserve and present the human and natural history of White Rock Lake Park and its surrounding environment." CSC has helped with the development of this project and is being recognized as a Bronze Patron sponsor for our efforts. We will be listed on the Permanent Exhibit Plaque and in the Museum & Lake Guide. A display on White Rock sailing will be prominently featured in the White Rock Lake Museum. Check it out.
